Canalta Hotel St. Paul

Stayed here for 3 weeks. Cindy and her staff are genuine and friendly. The hotel is clean with spacious rooms. There’s a decent sized pool with a water slide, hot tub and sauna. The breakfast is great, lots of options. I love the drip coffee they offer. My number one choice for a hotel in St. Paul.

Was in town for a hockey tournament. Easy check in, room was clean, beds comfortable, liked the decor. Kids loved the pool, great breakfast bar, and was close to options to eat or shop in town.

I stayed here for a year for work. I became very acquaint with the staff. They made me feel like I was part of the community. They have warm breakfast with tons of variety! On certain days they will make fresh omelettes with your choice of toppings. The room was great for me. The king bed was very comfortable. The kitchenette did the job. And the bathroom was....well a bathroom. Gym was small, lots of free weights. Only one treadmill, one ellipticalx and one bike. Some of the equipment wasn't working. But it worked for me. The games room was full of arcade games and a shelf that included board games. This room had a tv which many times people would watch the hockey games in their. And Lorna! What can I say, she is such an amazing housekeeper. She is particular and thorough. Very kind. Thank you Cindy, and the entire team for the wonderful stay.

This was our second stay at the Canalta. We came back due to the value, clean rooms and amenities. Christine was the front desk clerk both times and we’re grateful for her courteous, helpful demeanour. We love the pool, hot tub, games room and of course the breakfast. We will be back next season!

Staying here currently. Unfortunately so is a disrespectful volleyball team. We've had screaming at our door and now banging. Hot headed coach mad when we told kids in the hall to knock it off. Front desk has been very kind and rectified the issue. All of the staff have been great. I would stay again.

We recently stayed here with my son’s team while visiting the area for the Elk Point hockey tournament. The games room was the top selling point: most hotels don’t have a space for kids to gather and socialize, and that can be tough especially when you’re staying at a hotel as a group. The kids really enjoyed the games room and I was surprised that the arcade games didn’t cost $. The kids also loved the water slide and pool. Parents took full advantage of the all-day coffee bar: the to-go cups made it easy to bring a coffee to the hockey games. The continental breakfast was great and there was something for everyone. I appreciated the small fridge, microwave and Keurig in the room. We were able to bring along a balanced variety of food so we didn’t have to eat out all weekend. And first thing in the morning, when I wasn’t ready to leave the room, I could brew a coffee right there. Thanks again!

I stayed at this hotel for my son’s hockey tournament and had an issue with my room. I spoke with Christine who went above and beyond to make it right. Some things are out of the control of the front desk staff, but Christine did everything in her control to ensure we left happy. If I ever find myself in St. Paul again, I won’t hesitate to stay at the Canalta.

I had an outstanding stay at the Canalta Hotel St. Paul. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. The Manager on Duty handled check-in quickly and professionally and took the time to give a full explanation of all the hotel’s facilities and amenities — which was greatly appreciated after a long travel day. What really stood out was the responsiveness of the staff. Any questions I had were answered promptly via text making everything seamless and convenient. The rooms are clean, modern and well-appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s clear the property is well maintained and thoughtfully managed. I’ll definitely be staying here again whenever I’m in St. Paul on business. Highly recommend!
